The WedgWood Women's Club has been closely associated with almost every aspect of life in Washington Township.
The Club prides itself on responding to the needs of the community and beyond. More than $100,000 has been
donated in scholarships to Washington Township High School seniors and has supported various high school groups
and eventsincluding the Chamber Choir, athletic teams, and the R.O.T.C.
Every holiday the club donates food baskets to the needy and is one of the first to help out where needed in the
township. In November and December, members donate new coats to children who need a little warmth
during the winter. Thanks to Karen Lemke for delivering the coats to the proper people.
The WedgWood Women's Club also contributes to Mothers Matter, thanks to club members, JoAnn McPoyle and Betty Bartkovsky. Baskets are filled with members' donations of health and beauty care items and given to women shelters, children's pediatric hospital wards, day care centers, etc. Barbara Marsella, organizes the collection of items for the holiday food baskets which are given to families in need. Over 400 food baskets have been donated.
In addition, every year the members donate toys to the Marine Corps "Toys for Tots" campaign. This is the 18th year that the club participated in this wonderful event. Thanks to Ed Tuso, (Marion's husband) and Terry McPoyle (JoAnn's husband) for picking up and delivering the toys.
In December, the Club sponsors "Lunch with Santa" for
the children and grandchildren of the Club members.
